Hailey Bulls, PhD, is clinical psychologist at the Center for Counseling and Cancer Support at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center and an assistant professor of medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Bulls sees oncology patients one day per week at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center in Shadyside. Her clinical interests include cognitive and behavioral interventions for pain management and associated health behaviors (e.g., sleep, physical activity). In her research, Dr. Bulls is particularly interested in developing targeted, tailored pain management interventions as early as possible in the cancer continuum, as well as addressing issues that commonly arise with prescription opioids (e.g., opioid stigma, equity).
Licensed in Clinical Psychology, Dr. Bulls received her doctorate in Medical and Clinical Psychology at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. She completed a clinical psychology internship at James A. Haley VA and a postdoctoral fellowship in behavioral oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center, both in Tampa.
Dr. Bulls is a member of professional organizations including the Society for Behavioral Medicine, the United States and International Associations for the Study of Pain, and the Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer. In addition, she has contributed to multiple publications and research grants.
