UNDER DEVELOPMENT
Cancer pain affects millions of Americans. There are over 17 million cancer survivors in the US as a result of remarkable advances in cancer diagnosis and therapy. This number will rise >30%, to 22.2 million by 2030*.
An estimated 40% of cancer survivors continue to experience persistent pain as a result of treatments such as surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy.
How will we help them?
Patients with persistent pain associated with cancer and/or cancer treatment often receive less optimal care with restricted treatment modalities.
This workshop will emphasize multimodal and multidisciplinary treatment as part of cancer-related pain management and palliative care.
