Dr. Stavros Stavrakis MD, PhD, FACC, FHRS

Director, Cardiovascular Research, University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center

Stavros Stavrakis, MD, PhD, completed fellowships in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology and Cardiology at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, where he also completed his residency. He was a research fellow at the University of Athens Medical School, Greece, where he also earned his medical degree and doctorate in philosophy. Additionally, he earned a Master of Science degree in Clinical and Translational Sciences at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. 

Dr. Stavrakis specializes in the management of cardiac arrhythmias, both invasively (catheter ablation) and non-invasively (pharmacotherapy), in addition to implanting pacemakers and defibrillators and providing general cardiology patient care. 

He received the OK-INBRE Clinical and Translational Research Award for the project "Non-invasive neuromodulation to suppress atrial fibrillation". Dr. Stavrakis is a member of the American Heart Association, the American College of Cardiology, and the Heart Rhythm Society.
