Synopsis

Here we present an 18-year-old ambidextrous baseball pitcher with bilateral traumatic labral tears (right side in 2019, left side in 2020) that were treated surgically. His right shoulder recovery was limited by pain that limited his ability to pitch, throw, and catch despite 12 months of sport-specific physical therapy and corticosteroid injection. His left shoulder experienced similar pain and decision was made at two months post-operatively to augment his rehabilitation course with intra-articular platelet-rich plasma (leukocyte-poor) injection. Four months post-operatively, he had 0/10 pain with throwing/catching/pitching and had significantly better strength/range-of-motion in the left shoulder compared to the right shoulder.
